If I had to describe this book in one sentence it would be: “Twisty locked room mystery with devious psychological twist.”

I loved the way this started. It was fast moving with clear characters and short chapters that gave you just enough information to make you want more. I couldn’t turn the pages fast enough!

There were several characters in this storyline:

• Morgan Sheppard – Daytime TV Actor and hailed as the Child detective.
• Amanda Phillips – Coffee shop waitress in Waterloo station.
• Ryan Quinn – Hotel cleaner.
• Constance Ahearn – Famous West End actress and devout Catholic.
• Alan Hughes – Decorated lawyer involved in a highly influential case.
• Rhona Michel – 17yr old student who suffers with claustrophobia. 
• Simon Winter – Private therapist and Morgan’s own therapist. 

Each played their own role and added to the already curious locked room murder mystery. 

How did they get in there? How are they all connected to the deceased? Is one of them a murderer? Where the hell are they? 

These are just a few of the questions asked throughout the story and slowly one by one we find the answers out.

McGeorge does a fantastic job of portraying the characters and I found myself really invested in the outcome. Alan Hughes drove me mad and often I found myself willing him to shut up, Simon Winters I felt sorry for, and Constance Ahearn needed a good shake. These examples of emotion I felt towards these characters, is proof of McGeorges skill in drawing his readers into the world he has created.

Before reading this, I had heard it being compared to Cluedo and Guess Who, with a hint of the Saw movies. I can definitely see why that was the case but you may be pleased to know it has a lot less gore and horror! 

Considering the fast moving pace created at the start of this book, the middle was somewhat a little slow for me. The pace dropped off and so did the intensity that McGeorge had created. Nether the less I appreciate the information provided in the middle of the story, was important for setting the upcoming scene and filling in some gaps that had formed during the earlier quick pace.

The pace did eventually pick back up, just in time for the big ending, or so I thought. Although McGeorge did a fantastic job in keeping me informed and hooked on to the storyline, I have to admit I was a little disappointed in the way the book ended. After all the hype it created I found the ending a little deflating. I guess I had loved the world in my mind that McGeorge had created, and was so invested in the characters, that I didn’t want it to end so abruptly. I simply wanted more.

Please do not let my opinion on the ending stop you from reading “Guess Who” – It’s a lovely quick easy read and perfect for a lazy snuggled up Sunday afternoon. 

I’ll definitely be getting McGeorges next book “Now You See Me” which is teased in the back of his debut Guess Who.
